ST. ANTHONY’S FEAST DAY CELEBRATED AT ST. ANTHONY’S HSS SHILLONG


Shillong 14th June: Prestigious school, St Anthony’s Hr Sec School, Shillong on the 13th June, observed the feast day of Saint Anthony od Padua, a patron of the school. The program began with the holy mass presided by Rev Father Paul Olphindro Lyngkot, Provincial, Shillong Salesian Province accompanied by Rev Father Anthony Kharkongor, Principal, Rev Father Michael Makri, Director, Don Bosco Youth Centre, Rev Father Jeevan Lakra, Rector, Rev Father Anthony Wahlang, Vice Principal and Rev Father D John. Sharing the word of God, Father Paul Olphindro encouraged the students to be the salt and light of the world. ‘We have to rise up, wake up and we should do good deeds that will bring good in our life’ he exclaimed. With the conclusion of the holy mass, Miss Mandakini narrated the life of Saint Anthony of Padua. Soon after, the event reached to a cultural evening in which Mayralborn syiem, MLA Nongboh graced the occasion. The cultural program became all the more graceful with the participation of young students displaying the diversity of culture in India. Before the conclusion of the program, Mayralborn delivered his words of encouragement which he said that students need to remember 3 things for the rest of their lives. 1. We should say no to drugs. 2. We should say no to plastics. 3. We should be people of good deeds.
