Shillong 20th March: The Salesian Brothers of the St. John Paul II, Shillong Province gathered together at Don Bosco Technical School for the Annual Meeting. Organized by the Province Delegate, Brother Quirinus Warkhyllew Sdb, the Provincial and the Vice Provincial together with seventeen other Salesian Brothers were present in the meeting. The meeting focused on the theme “The Salesian Brothers in Mission: an Educator and Pastor of Young – Current Trends, Challenges and Prospects for the Future”. It was an opportunity for the Saleisan brothers to spent quality time together to learn and get to know some of the important concerns of the Congregation about the Salesian Brothers and on the ‘On Going Formation’ pointed out by the Rector Major during his last two Team Visits to South East Asia in 2017 and 2023. Father Provincial who was was present for the meeting, gave a message by inviting the brothers to be witness to young people especially those in the formation. The meeting commenced with the felicitation of the senior Salesian Brothers for being the strong pillars of support and witness for the Salesian Brotherhood Vocation in the Province. It was also an opportunity to thank the Provincial and the Council for giving the Salesian Brothers the chance to take part in the canonization of St. Artemides Zatti Sdb in Rome, and also the tour to Turin from 8th – 14th October 2022. During those two days, the main point for discussion was “Where are our Salesians?” The lively discussion and sharing made the day more active where the brothers shared a lot of concerns about the Salesian Brotherhood Vocation and their mission. At the end of the meeting, the Vice Provincial gave a message for the brothers to be witnesses of Christ’s love to the young in Don Bosco’s way. He thanked all the Salesian Brothers who were present for the meeting with a special mention to Brother Quirinus and DBTS for the success of the meeting.
