DBSH BIDS TEARFUL FAREWELL TO CLASS X STUDENTS

Shillong March 2022: Don Bosco School Herma bade a tearful farewell to its out-going class X batch 2021-22 students during a simple but a meaningful programme held in the school on Saturday the 5th of March 2022. Fr. Mathew, Fr. Babu, Fr. Isaac, Bro. Wanpher, Bro. Johny and the Pre-novices of Bosco Home graced the occasion with their benign presence. The programme commenced with the warm welcome accorded by the school to the out-going students of Class X and they were escorted to the dais amidst thunderous applause and joy-filled shouting. Students from class Nursery to class IX, together with their parents, attended the function and made it a grand success. A powerful prayer led by Donbok, one of the pre-novices, set the stage for the function which was followed by a lovely prayer dance by class 7 students. Fr. Babu Stephen, who has always generously imparted his wisdom to his students and guided them towards the right track, in his welcome speech, highlighted the enormous contribution made by the out-going students for the growth and development of Don Bosco School Herma over the past few years. He thanked them for their love, appreciation and concern for the school. He also thanked their parents for choosing DBSH as a platform for moulding the life of their children. Fr. Babu Stephen further urged the out-going students to look upon this event as a celebration of their years at their Alma Mater and gave them practical and helpful advice on how to juggle between the expectations of their family and society with their own aspirations and dreams. He ended by wishing them happiness, prosperity and success in all future endeavours and exhorted them to leave an indelible and a significant mark on society and make the school proud. The students of classes IV- IX put forth excellent but graceful and vibrant traditional dances on a Kokborok song. Message by Fr. Mathew too has inspired them to take up any challenges in their lives journey and exhorted everyone to inculcate the Christian values in their personal life and in their places. The outgoing batch gave gifts to all the staff members and to the school to show their appreciation in tutoring and guiding them over the years. Master Sunendra Debbarma, on behalf of the out-going students, thanked the school and appreciated its valuable service rendered to them. The school in return expressed its gratitude to the out-going students by presenting them all with a well prepared mementos each and another token of love by the class IX students too. The beautiful rendition of a farewell song, at the end of the function, by the Pre-novices of Bosco Home left everyone spellbound and mesmerized. The programme concluded with a tea party for every one sponsored by the school.
