Located 134Km away from Shillong, a Don Bosco Institution named after Christ the King in the village of Sonapahar (Riangdo) started a school in 1972. From time to time various activities and facilities were added to this school. Now it has the capacity for Higher Secondary section. Thanks to the hardworks and dedication of numerous missionaries, the school which is situated in the remote part of Meghalaya today is known for its excellence in education.

On World Environment Day, an extemporare speech was conducted at Science Centre NEHU, Mackystar was judged the best speaker and was awarded the first prize, thus adding more feathers to this Don Bosco Institution in Sonapahar. Filled with joy and contenment, the winner exclaimed and lauded the education he received from the Salesians.
