ST. JOHN’S BOSCO SOHRA STUDENTS SHINE IN NATIONAL KICKBOXING CHAMPIONSHIP


18th June 2024, Shillong: In a remarkable achievement, students from St. John's Bosco School, Sohra, have brought great pride to their institution and the state by securing top honors at the Kickboxing 2024 event organized by the National Kickboxing of India in Siliguri. Derrick Dashankur Nongrum and Donborlang Lyngdoh clinched gold medals, while Iashanlang Susngi earned a bronze medal in this prestigious competition. Speaking to the media, Reverend Father Alfonsius Rongrin, the principal of St. John's Bosco, expressed his delight and pride in the students' accomplishments. He highlighted that each winner received a commendable cash prize of rupees 90,000. Additionally, Derrick and Donborlang were awarded scholarships of rupees 20,000 per month, while Iashanlang received rupees 12,000 per month. The students were coached and guided by Mr. Nathaniel; under whose mentorship they excelled in the championship. A warm reception was organized for the triumphant students on the evening of June 18th at the principal's office, where Vice Principal Mr. Religious Sawian and Larry Pearson Warjri delivered inspiring speeches to honor their achievement.
