RILANG CHILDREN’S HOME JOINS HANDS WITH NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN FOR A DRUG-FREE INDIA


Shillong, 13 August: Rilang Children's Home organized an Awareness Program on Drug Abuse on the 12th August 2024, as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Independence Day Campaign 2024, culminating in a pledge-taking ceremony by the boys and staff, reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free life. Mr. Deep Gurung, Program Manager of Child Friendly Shillong, BIDS, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program aimed to educate the residents and staff about the dangers of drug abuse, its consequences, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The event was aligned with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan's mission to create a drug-free India, and Rilang Children's Home's efforts to support this initiative. In his address, Mr. Gurung emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment for children and youth, encouraging them to make informed choices and lead healthy lives. He praised Rilang Children's Home for their proactive approach in addressing the issue. The highlight of the program was the pledge-taking ceremony, where the boys and staff vowed to abstain from drugs and substance abuse, promising to support and encourage one another in their commitment.
