MIZORAM REGION: CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS AND RELEASING OF SOUVENIR


Shillong 7 May: Today the centenary celebration of the arrival of the Salesians in North East India is held at Don Bosco Seling. Most Rev. Stephen Rotluanga CSC, Bishop of Aizawl celebrated the Holy Eucharist and he also released a book entitled “Mizorama Salesiante Rawngbawlna (Salesian Mission in Mizoram) to mark the occasion.

    The celebration was organized by the Salesians who work in the Mizoram Region. Father John Zosiama, the Vice Provincial of Shillong joined the celebration from Shillong. There were 14 priests and a good number of religious brothers and sisters, students as well as lay collaborators and prominent church leaders. After the Eucharistic celebration, a short felicitation programme was held and there was a release of Souvenir, which in fact was more like a book. The book contains a good number of articles both in English and Mizo. It will be a great source of knowledge and information with regards to the Church history in Mizoram and the contributions made by the Salesians. Father John Zosiama edited the entire work.
