Historic Triumphs at the First Ever Nongstoin Diocese Bible Quiz and Choir Competitions 2025


Shillong / Nongstoin 5th May: The Nongstoin Diocese proudly hosted its inaugural Diocese Bible Quiz Competition and Diocese Choir Competitionin 2025 on 3rd May 2025, marking a vibrant new chapter in the spiritual and cultural life of the Diocese. These landmark events brought together young minds and talented voices from across the diocese, showcasing faith, knowledge, and musical excellence.

    In a stunning display of dedication and talent, Mary Mother of the Church Rangblang Parishemerged as the Champions of the Children’s Bible Quiz (Under 14 years) category, making history as the very first winners of this prestigious event. Their victory is a testament to the parish’s commitment to nurturing biblical knowledge among its youth.

    But the parish’s achievements didn’t stop there. In their debut appearance at the Diocese Choir Competition, the St. Mazzarello Choir from Rangblang Parish soared to an impressive fifth place, a remarkable feat for a first-time competitor. Under the inspiring leadership of Dominic Lyngkhoi and his dedicated team, the choir’s harmonious voices captivated the judges and audience alike.

    The star participants of the Bible Quiz - Devinson Thyrniang, Annia Linza Nongsiej, and Steffilia Marwein - along with the St. Mazzarello Choir, will be formally honored and awarded on Diocese Day, May 18, 2025, at the Cathedral Parish Pyndengrei. This celebration promises to be a memorable occasion recognizing their hard work, talent, and faith.
