2nd October 2024, Shillong: On October 2, 2024, the Donbosco Youth Center (DBYC) held a vibrant concert at its ground floor, showcasing the vocal talents of its students under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Michael Makri, Director of DBYC. The event aimed to enhance the children's singing skills and boost their confidence on stage, captivating all attendees with their pure and beautiful voices. Rev. Fr. John Zosiama, Provincial of the Shillong Province, emphasized the importance of music in his speech, stating, “A house without song is like a body without a soul.” The concert was attended by notable guests, including Rev. Genesius Wanniang, Rev. Saji Stephan, Rev. Anthony Kharkongor, and Rev. Sylvester Synrem, Rev Fr Michael Makri, Rev Fr Ritonbor Kharkongkor, sisters from St.Mary’s covent and also from different communities, along with parents. The evening not only celebrated the students’ achievements but also reinforced the vital role of music in nurturing young talent.
