DON BOSCO SCHOOL TEACHERS’ TRAINING PROGRAMME IN TRIPURA


Shillong 24th April: Don Bosco Schools in Tripura organized a Teachers’ Training Programme on “Post-Pandemic: A Pedagogical Narrative” by Fr. {Dr.) Paul Pudussery CSC, Director, ASHA, Agartala on Saturday, the 23rd of April 2022 at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat. It was a joined venture of all the State Board (TBSE) Don Bosco Schools in Tripura: namely Herma, Bishramganj, Pitra, Naba Sardar and Mandwi who have just began simultaneously their New Academic Session 2022-23 on 19th April 2022. St. Xavier’ Hr. Sec. School Pathaliaghat, which is a CBSE school, also joined with TBSE schools for this teacher’s training programme. A total of 150 teachers and 6 principals from all these 6 schools have participated in this excellent teachers’ training programme. This programme was aimed at bringing together all the school staff of our different schools to know each other, to interact with one another and to bring alive the Salesian spirit in the field teaching –learning experience. More of this sort of programme will surely boost the spirit of the teaching in providing better and quality education in all our centres of learning.

    The inaugural function began with the words of welcome by Fr. Babu Stephen SDB during which he welcomed the resource person Fr. Paul Pudussery with Tripuri traditional Risa and a badge which was followed by a meaningful prayer led by Sr. Redina Marwein VSDB. A beautiful and soul soothing prayer dance by the Auxilium Convent Girls, Pathaliaghat set the tone for the day’s training programme.

    Fr. Paul Pudussery, an excellent trainer, took the entire participants for a series of critical thinking and analysis of what the teachers were doing till today. He opened up the mindset of the teachers regarding teaching-learning to a new way of looking at it today. He helped the teachers to understand the students especially after the Covid pandemic. He exhorted everyone to give the best in everything that we as teachers take upon ourselves. He dealt with the topics of how to be Happy Teacher in the class rooms. He said that teaching is a God given talent and it has to be fully utilized for the growth and enrichment of human kind.

    The sessions were all very interactive and meaningful. It was a praise-worthy session. All enjoyed the programme and were attentive throughout the programme. Many participants raised questions and those were all clarified there and then. His expertise and experiential knowledge has really helped him to do justice to the teachers’ training programme. His PowerPoint presentation on various topics caught the attention of all the participants throughout the programme. The entire programme was held for 5 hours with two short breaks in between the session.

    The teachers training programme came to an end at 2:00 pm with the vote of thanks by Sr. Teresa Sangma. Fr. Babu, on behalf of all the schools, thanked Fr. Paul for his availability and for the excellent programme. A small token of appreciation and gratitude was presented to Fr. Paul Pudussery by Fr. K.A. Thomas SDB. The climax of the programme was the sumptuous lunch prepared and sponsored by Pathaliaghat, Madwi, Pitra and Bishramganj communities and lovely group photo taken at end of the session.
