DON BOSCO COLLEGE BYNDIHATI HOSTS INTER-DEPARTMENTAL DEBATE ON LINEAGE IMPACT
11th April 2025, Byndihati: Don Bosco College Byndihati witnessed a spirited inter-departmental debate competition organized by the Khasi Department today, 11th April 2025, at the college’s Mini Hall. The event, centered on the thought-provoking theme, “Ka jingai jait kpa ka ktah ïa ka Riti ka dustur u Khasi” (The impact of patrilineal lineage on Khasi customs and traditions), drew enthusiastic participation from students across various departments.
The competition saw 14 participants representing seven departments, engaging in a robust exchange of ideas and perspectives. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Lily Mary Nongtdu, Head of the Khasi Department, who extended her greetings to the Chief Guest, Ms. Rudawanshwa Supooh, Assistant Professor from Jaiñtia Eastern College Khliehriat, the college Principal, Fr. Daniel D. M. Cajee SDB, the panel of judges, participants, faculty, and students.
Fr. Daniel D. M. Cajee SDB, in his address, emphasized the importance of maintaining maturity and fostering a spirit of healthy debate, urging participants to express their arguments without animosity. Ms. Rudawanshwa Supooh, the Chief Guest, commended the Khasi Department for organizing such a relevant and insightful event, highlighting the necessity of understanding the complexities of the debate’s theme.
After a series of compelling arguments and engaging discussions, the judges announced the winners: 1st Position: Lambokstar Jyrwa (Commerce Department), 2nd Position: Amy Lapasam (Commerce Department) and 3rd Position: Realisa Dkhar (Sociology Department).
The winners were felicitated and congratulated by the judges and the Chief Guest. The event concluded with a group photograph, capturing the successful culmination of the inter-departmental debate.
