BISHOP WILBERT CELEBRATES CORPUS CRISTI AT ST. PETER PARISH NONGSTOIN, PYNDENGREI.
Shillong 12 June: The 11th of June, 2023 was the day that the whole Catholic Church celebrated the day as the solemnity of Corpus Cristi or the solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. To mark this event as a memorial one; many parishes and institutions made this feast even more solemn. At St. Peter’s Parish Nongstoin, Pyndengrei was solemnized with the presence of His Lordship, Bishop Wilbert Marwein the newly ordained Bishop of Nongstoin Diocese as the main celebrant during the Holy Mass. Together with him, Fr. Marius Thongnibah the Parish Priest and Fr. Thomas Marak the Assistant Parish Priest joined the Mass as Concelebrants. In
his homily, His Lordship shared the Word of God with the Faithful bounteously at the same time deepening their faith by assimilating few thoughts from the meaning of the Feast of the day. Being the solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, the Parish spiritually kept this day for the children to receive their First Holy Communion. It was indeed a blessing moment for all in sharing Christ on this day. The children sang a beautiful song after receiving Jesus as a sign of thanking Him for coming into their lives. The whole crowd has been a witness to this faith and there will be an assurance that Jesus will bless them. Towards evening, the faithful continued praising the Lord with the Adoration Service and Blessing.
