The workshop of officially inaugurated at 9.30 am. Fr. Shiningstar Dkhar, the Principal of Don Bosco Technical School, welcomed the Faculties from the University and briefed the participants on the nature of the workshop. Miss Seema Kumari, One of the Faculties from the department, introduced the students to the purpose of the workshop and gave the guidelines for the practical. The workshop aimed to provide students with essential practical knowledge and skills that are critical in the field of architecture and design. By engaging in hands-on activities, students have learned to construct furniture from initial drafts, delve into techniques involving wood joinery, and explore various construction methodologies. During the workshop, students made furniture sitting for a canteen. Furthermore. This initiative aligns with the commitment of the two Institutions to innovative and progressive education, enhancing our curriculum’s relevance to contemporary design challenges.
The Instructors from DBTS, took a session on the theoretical aspects of designs and Furniture. The participants were divided into groups for the practical sessions. At the end of the workshop, the students were able to make furniture as designed and prescribed by the curriculum. The Workshop was concluded on 20th February 2025 at 4 pm with the review of the products by Mr. Sengchu Marak, a faculty of the department, and Fr. Shiningstar Dkhar.
