28th January 2025, Tripura: The Annual Sports Inauguration of Don Bosco School, Pitra, was celebrated with grandeur and enthusiasm on 28th January 2025. The event commenced at 9:30 am with the escorting of the Chief Guest, Fr. Christopher Warlarphi, Rector of Don Bosco Agartala, and the Guest of Honour, Fr. Babu Stephen, Principal of St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Fr. Sunny Joseph, Principal of Don Bosco School, Pitra, Sr. Rihun, and several other Fathers and Sisters, including Fr. Anthony Valluran and Fr. K.S. Paul. The event began with a graceful prayer dance performed by the hostel girls, setting a serene and reverent tone for the occasion. This was followed by the lighting of the sports torch, a symbolic gesture to ignite the spirit of sportsmanship, and an impressive inter-house march-past by the junior students. A vibrant drill display by the juniors added a splash of color and excitement to the ceremony. Fr. Sunny Joseph welcomed the gathering with an inspiring speech, after which Fr. Christopher Warlarpih addressed the students and teachers. His meaningful message emphasized the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance in sports and life. The event’s coordination was managed by Sr. Theresa Sangma, the Headmistress of Don Bosco School, Pitra, whose efforts ensured the smooth flow of the program. A standout moment of the event was the bench-cheering item by the four houses, which captivated the audience with its energy and enthusiasm. The parents and other students also witnessed the ceremony, adding to the day’s festive spirit. The sports venue was adorned with beautifully made tent houses for all four houses, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
