Shillong, 15th & 16th November 2024: A spirit-filled recollection for 38 practical trainees and student brothers took place at the Pastoral Centre under the guidance of Father Vice Provincial, Fr. Jeevan Lakra, Sdb. The gathering served as a moment of spiritual renewal and reflection, focusing on strengthening the participants' commitment to their Salesian vocation. The event commenced with an inspiring session wherein all the brothers shared their personal experiences. After the sharing session, there was a personal adoration and a talk on the Evangelical Counsels by Father Dennis. His thought-provoking talk emphasized the importance of living out the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience as an authentic response to the call of discipleship. He invited the brothers to deepen their understanding of these counsels, viewing them as pathways to holiness and service in the Salesian mission. On the second day, the talk was again given by Fr. Dennis Lalfela based on the theme “Led by the Holy Spirit,” with dynamic sessions that encouraged the brothers to discern the workings of the Spirit in their lives and ministries. The brothers had a time for the sacrament of reconciliation, followed with the Holy Mass celebrated by Vice-Provincial, Fr. Jeevan Lakra SDB. The recollection provided the brothers with not only spiritual enrichment but also the opportunity to strengthen their bond as brothers in the Salesian community. It was a rejuvenating experience, fostering a renewed commitment to living a Christ-centered life in service of the youth and the Church.
