YOUTH DANCE SHOWCASE: STEP BATTLE COMPETITION KICKS OFF IN DBYC, SHILLONG


Shillong, October 26 – The Don Bosco Media Network hosted its first-ever Step Battle competition at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, showcasing the remarkable talent of local dancers. Eight groups, including solos and duets, participated, featuring teams like Ka Ace Merakis, Majestic Dance Academy, BT Dancers, Megha Warriors, LSC Duo, Phrangsngi L M, bad u Tyngahaiñbor. Judge Anisha Mawrie, a renowned dancer and teacher, praised the participants for their impressive performances, captivating the audience, particularly the youth. The competition consists of multiple rounds, with participants having completed two rounds to qualify for the finals scheduled for December 3. A third round, focusing on "Contemporary Style," will take place on November 9. Winners will receive cash prizes, with the champion taking home 90,000, followed by 45,000 for second place and 15,000 for third. Fr. Michael Makri, Managing Director of DBMNTV, expressed excitement for the event's potential to inspire and engage young talent.
