SUMMER RETREAT FOR CHILDREN AT RAMBRAI PARISH.
7th July 2024, Rambrai: From July 5th to 7th, 2024, Mount Calvary Parish in Rambrai Nongstoin hosted a transformative Summer Spiritual Retreat for children and adults. With over 200 participants, the retreat provided a sacred space for spiritual growth, nourishment, and renewal.
The retreat was a beautiful expression of the Church's mission to spread God's love and wisdom. The three daily sessions were carefully crafted to engage the children in a journey of faith, fostering a deeper understanding of God's presence in their lives.
The day began with vibrant singing and dancing sessions, filling the hearts of the children with joy and enthusiasm. The action songs became a powerful tool for praising God, echoing the Psalmist's words, "Let us come before Him with thanksgiving" (Psalm 95:2).
The praise and worship sessions that followed created an atmosphere of communal devotion, reminiscent of the early Christian community's gatherings (Acts 2:42-47). The children's voices rose in unison, a sweet offering to the Lord, filling the retreat center with the spirit of unity and praise.
Each day concluded with an Adoration Service, a sacred moment of contemplation and reflection. The children were drawn into the Real Presence of Christ, experiencing the peace and serenity that comes from being in the presence of the Divine.
A significant highlight of the retreat was the opportunity for participants to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Parish Priest's preparatory session skillfully guided the children to reflect on their actions, seek forgiveness, and experience the merciful love of God.
The retreat was enriched by the insightful sessions conducted by Br. Dawhoiki War, SDB, Br. Sniawshngain Papang, SDB, and Miss Rose Thongni. Their facilitation helped the children grasp the depth of God's love, the call to holiness, and the importance of respect and relationships in their lives.
The Summer Spiritual Retreat at Mount Calvary Parish was a resounding success, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all participants. The blend of lively activities, thoughtful sessions, and profound sacramental experiences created a transformative encounter with the Divine. As the children returned home, they carried with them the joy, peace, and love of God, ready to share it with their families, friends, and communities.
