MARIAN PROCESSION CELEBRATED WITH SPLENDOR IN POMBRIEW VILLAGE


19TH MAY 2024, RANGBLANG: On May 19th, 2024, the village of Pombriew in Rangblang Parish witnessed a vibrant celebration of faith as 31 villages came together for a majestic Marian Procession coinciding with the Day of Pentecost. The event saw a remarkable turnout of the faithful, who filled the air with prayers and the angelic Marian hymns.Preceding this memorable occasion, parishioners diligently prepared themselves through a triduum, confession, and enlightening Marian talks by the Catechist, Sister, and Father.The day commenced with a morning psalm at 9:30 am, followed by Mass celebrated by Parish Priest Fr. Edmund Lakra, alongside Assistant Parish Priest Fr. Jeffree Kharkongor. Notably, 15 children received the sacrament of Baptism during the Mass. Post-lunch, the village adorned a beautifully decorated Marian statue, accompanied by stunning Marian flex displays from each participating village, enhancing the splendour of the procession. Amplifying the reverence to the Blessed Mother was the captivating and celestial melody of the St. Peter Band of Pyndengrei, Nongstoin. The day continued with Adoration and a captivating Marian talk by Fr. Jeffree Kharkongor, accompanied by soul-stirring hymns performed by the band. As the day drew to a close, the community was encouraged to turn to Mary in times of need, fostering a deeper connection to their faith and the intercessory power of the Blessed Mother.
