Shillong, March 8th, 2024: The Salesian Province of Shillong (INS) held its annual meeting for Administrators and Lay Accountants on March 7th and 8th, 2024, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Shillong. The theme of the meeting was "Strategic Financial Planning for Sustainable Development." The meeting commenced with a brief welcome program and felicitation of the resource person. Father Provincial, Father Vice Provincial, and Father Economer delivered welcome addresses, emphasizing collaboration, unity, and teamwork in achieving common goals. Minutes from the previous meeting were also read by a staff member from the Provincial Economer's office. The first day featured Father Amaladoss Samson, the Provincial Economer of the Salesian Province of Trichy (INT), as the resource person. His presentation focused on the importance of maintaining various society documents, including 12A documents, land documents, activity reports, annual reports, house council records, and FCRA accounts. The second day opened with a short address by Father Provincial, encouraging participants to stay updated in their work, be faithful to their duties, and prioritize transparency and teamwork. The day featured presentations by Mr. Mebankersuk Cajee on wastewater management, Mr. Peter Sunn on government audits, and a team from RSM and Associates Chartered Accountants on maintaining systematic accounting practices within each Salesian community. The closing session involved Father Economer leading a discussion on "sharing and way forward," where all attendees actively participated. Father Makri then presented potential schemes offered by the state government, and Brother Quirinus delivered the vote of thanks.
