DON BOSCO FEAST CELEBRATED IN NANDANNAGAR, AGARTALA
31st January 2024, Agartala: On January 31st, 2024, Agartala resonated with reverence and festivity as the Feast of St. John Bosco, affectionately known as Don Bosco, was celebrated with fervor. The Parish Church hosted tri-duum adoration services, drawing a significant turnout of parishioners, all animated by the Salesian family. The day commenced with a Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr Christopher Mary Warlarpih SDB, accompanied by esteemed fathers of the community.
Following the Mass, a touching floral tribute adorned the statue of Don Bosco at Don Bosco Square, accompanied by hymns and a poignant message from Fr. Rector about the saint's life. Auxilium and Don Bosco students, resplendent in traditional attire, paid homage to Don Bosco during school hours, culminating in a vibrant rally through Quarter Bazaar, radiating joy and camaraderie.
The celebration continued with student-led exhibitions portraying Don Bosco's life, showcased in the auditorium halls and corridors. An amphitheater program further commemorated the day's significance, engaging attendees with reverence and reflection.
As the Parish Feast coincided, Reverend Fr. Christopher, the Parish Priest, led a packed congregation in a solemn Holy Eucharist, expressing gratitude to parishioners for their unwavering support and participation. Special mention was made of contributions from religious communities and associations, emphasizing the collective responsibility in nurturing the Church and fostering unity.
The day was doubly blessed with the reception of two new members, Miss Evelyn Darlong and Mr. Anik Das, who joined the Church in preparation for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
A felicitation program in the lawn honored clergy members, brothers, superiors, and parish catechists, orchestrated by the Parish Pastoral Council and Maria Bodol, attended by approximately 250 faithful.The festivities culminated in a symbolic cake cutting ceremony and convivial high tea, underscoring the unity and joy permeating the parish community.
