ST. XAVIER’S SCHOOL SHINES AT THE 75TH REPUBLIC DAY


Shillong 26th January: It is indeed a red letter day for St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat as it bagged Two First Prizes for March-past and for Patriotic Dance competitions respectively at the 75th Republic Day celebration held on 26th January 2024 at Bishramganj, Sepahijala district. Shmt. Shatana Chakma, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Govt of Tripura was the Chief Guest for the function. The DM, Mr. Nagesh Rao and the SP, Mr. Reddy of Sepahijala, together with a galaxy of dignitaries and VIP’s graced the occasion with their benign presence. The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest Smt. Shatana Chakma thereafter, the prestigious march-past for both armed and unarmed contingents. While addressing the gathering, the Minister spoke about various developments, new initiatives and schemes of the Government for the neglected sections of the state. She also thanked everyone for being part of this celebration. At the end of her talk, the prize distribution ceremony took place. The first in the list was St. Xavier’s School Pathaliaghat who bagged the coveted First Prize for March-past under unarmed category. The captain of the school team Ms. Rupali Debbarma received the Prize from the Minister, Shmt. Shatana Chakma. Thereafter, the programme continued with Patriotic Dance competition in which six schools from Bishramganj took part with different lively and colorful costumes. Once again St. Xavier’s School with 120 students who enthralled everyone with mesmerizing performance created history by bagging the First Prize for Patriotic Dance. In the name of the school team, Fr. Babu Stephen, received the prize from the Minister and other dignitaries.
