7th December 2023, Shillong: Don Bosco Technical School Shillong: DBTS witnessed a celebration of academic achievement and skill development as it hosted its Certification Day for trainees of short-term courses 2023. The event served as a significant milestone for participants who successfully completed their respective programs, showcasing their dedication to continuous learning and professional development. Amidst an air of anticipation, the ceremony unfolded at AV Hall (DBTS), where the trainees were recognized for their hard work and commitment with certificates approved by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). The certification ceremony was organized by DBTS and BMZ TVET Project and implemented by Bosco Integrated Development Society (BIDS). During the occasion the management, Teachers, staff and trainees of DBTS were present. The event commenced with a Bible reading and prayer which was followed by welcome address from Fr. Dr Arcadius Puwein the Principal, highlighting the institute's commitment to providing quality training and practical skills that align with industry demands. He emphasized the importance of short-term courses especially courses as courses at DBTS are recognized by NDSC (National Skill Development Corporation) in enhancing employability and preparing individuals for the evolving demands of the workforce. His address inspired the trainees to leverage their newly acquired skills for success in their chosen fields. Fr Saji the Director of DBTS also addressed the gathering inspiring the trainees to be humble and work hard in whatever skills they have chosen. Certificates were then conferred upon the trainees from different trades such as Carpentry, Electrician, Fashion Designing, Cake Specialized, Bakery, Solar Lighting, Plumber, Welder etc, symbolizing the culmination of their short-term courses. Certification Day concluded with a networking session, fostering connections between graduates and industry professionals. This provided a platform for potential employers to engage with the graduates and explore collaboration opportunities.
