THE FIRST PICNIC OF THE PRE-NOVICES


24th July 2024, Tripura: On 24 July 2024, the pre-novices embarked on their first picnic, a day filled with exploration, fun, and camaraderie. The outing commenced from Bosco Home Herma, setting the stage for an enriching and enjoyable day. The journey began with a scenic drive to Baijalbari, where the group arrived around midday. The pre-novices enjoyed a hearty lunch prepared by Fr. Merkush Basumatary SDB (the assistant parish priest of Baijalbary Parish) in the serene environment of Baijalbari, which provided a refreshing break and a chance to relish local delicacies. Following the meal, the group engaged in a short entertainment session, featuring games and activities that allowed everyone to interact and bond in a relaxed setting. After the refreshing pause at Baijalbari, the excursion continued to the ‘Lembuchera Water Park’. The water park offered a delightful array of attractions, including slides, pools, and water games, which provided an ideal way to cool off and enjoy some playful moments. The pre-novices took full advantage of the park's amenities, engaging in various water activities that contributed to the day’s high spirits and laughter. Post the water park visit, the group proceeded to Don Bosco Agartala. On reaching Don Bosco Agartala, Fr. Christopher Wanlarpih SDB the parish priest of Don Bosco Parish, Agartala, welcomes the group and serves the group with a delicious tea. The group in return gave a big thank you to the community, through a beautiful choir piece entitled “Let us have a little talk with Jesus”. This segment of the trip was characterized by a peaceful return journey, reflecting on the day’s experiences and enjoying the scenic beauty along the way. The final leg of the trip saw the group returning to Bosco Home Herma, bringing the day’s events to a close. The picnic was a successful and memorable experience, fostering strong bonds among the pre-novices and providing them with a well-deserved break from their regular routines. Overall, the outing was a delightful blend of relaxation, entertainment, and fellowship, marking a significant event in the pre-novices' journey. The positive feedback from the participants and the smooth execution of the day’s itinerary underscored the success of the picnic, setting a positive tone for future events.
