The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 350 Catholic students of Classes V–XII along with Catholic teachers. Significantly, students from 19 Catholic parishes of Tripura also joined, making the gathering a rich and vibrant expression of faith and unity. The entire programme was coordinated by Fr. Remol Marak SDB, Fr. Nicholas Sun SDB, and Fr. Jitendis SDB.
The three-day programme commenced on 22nd August morning with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Remol Marak SDB. A short inaugural function followed, graced by Fr. Christopher SDB as the Chief Guest.
The weekend was marked by five enriching sessions on Catholic faith and teachings, delivered by eminent speakers including Fr. Christopher, Fr. Remol Marak, Fr. Nicholas Sun, Sr. Peaceful, Ms. Alphonsa Molsom, Fr. Juel Ekka and Bro. Alexius Condpan. These sessions provided the young participants with valuable insights on how to live their faith with joy, commitment, and responsibility.
In addition, the programme featured a wide range of competitions, such as: Quiz Competitions on Mary, Don Bosco, the Bible, and Church History Faith-related Competitions including Gospel Singing, Tableau on Biblical Themes, Fancy Dress, Speech, and Painting
Students participated with remarkable creativity, enthusiasm, and energy, making the weekend vibrant and inspiring. A special acknowledgment goes to the Pre-novices of Herma, whose music, animation, liturgy, dance, and generous assistance added great life and spirit to the programme.
The Faith Formation Weekend concluded on 24th August with a solemn Eucharist presided over by Fr. Babu Stephen SDB, followed by a valedictory function. The event was graced by Fr. Sebastian Palatty SDB, Fr. Dinesh Narzar SDB, Fr. Nicholas Sun SDB, religious sisters, brothers, staff, and students.
The winners of the various competitions were felicitated with prizes by the dignitaries. The heartfelt sharing of experiences by both students and staff highlighted the deep faith, inspiration, and joy they had gained through the weekend.
In their concluding addresses, Fr. Babu Stephen SDB and Fr. Sebastian Palatty SDB expressed profound gratitude to the principals, staff, and students of all Don Bosco Schools of Tripura for their wholehearted support in making this dream a reality. The programme ended joyfully with a vote of thanks by Fr. Nicholas Sun SDB.
The Catholic Students’ Faith Formation Weekend 2025 will be remembered as a milestone event in the history of Don Bosco Schools in Tripura. It not only deepened the faith of young Catholics but also united them as a community of hope and joy, journeying with Don Bosco towards Christ.
