Shillong, 16th July: With the goal of empowering youth and strengthening their faith in God, the Salesian Youth Movement of Nongstoin Parish organized a one-day tour to the remote village of Mawthawniaw on 14th July 2024 under the leadership of Salesian Brother Quirinus War SDB and Banshai Wanniang. Over 140 youths from eight surrounding villages of the parish, including Pyndengrei, Siejlieh, Mawthawniaw, Myndo, Nongkhniang, Nongdom, Mawthoh, and Pungsyior, enthusiastically took part in the spiritual program. Father Carmel Myrthong SDB, Assistant Parish Priest, spoke to the youth about the 'Temptations of the Devil,' cautioning them, "Be careful, dear young people, how the devil lures you into worldly activities rather than spiritual ones." He emphasized the importance of vigilance against such temptations. In addition to the youth, sisters from the parish convents, Head Catechist Babu Crispin, elders, women, and children also participated in this Salesian-style faith formation program.
