Shillong, 2 December 2024 - Rilang Children's Home recently organized an awareness program aimed at eliminating Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The event was attended by the home's residents and staff. Interns from Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) and the Indian Institute of Professional Studies (IIP) Social Work Department presented a thought-provoking role-play on the Prohibition of Child Marriage Prevention Act 2006. Andrea also delivered an informative awareness session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, emphasizing the importance of protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation. The awareness program was a significant step towards promoting a culture of equality, respect, and zero tolerance for GBV.
