9th December 2024, Shillong: The Mini Job Fair, hosted by the Bosco Integrated Development Society (BIDS) at Don Bosco Technical Shillong, served as a key platform for local students and job seekers to explore employment opportunities, especially the trainees from Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong. The program started at 9:00 am with a prayer and welcome speech by Br. Lambert. The message was given by the principal, Fr. Shiningstar Dkhar. He thanked the enterprises and companies who came to participate in the Job fair. He appreciated their willingness to assist the youth in entering the workforce and credited their effort in creating employment opportunities for the youth of the state. He urged the trainees to participate in the interview for better learning experiences and to grasp the golden job opportunities. The Principal declared the Mini Job Fair opened officially. The enterprises who came to the Job Fair were, 7’s bro and 4’s sis Bakery owned by Rozarius Kurbah, Hillsbrew owned by Darren Lyngdoh, the Nongbri Traditional Dressmaking Unit owned by Emi Nongbri, F L Saloon owned by Octavian Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi, Hilltop Resorts owned by Andrew Lyngdoh and two online companies, kitex garments and Uno Minda. The event aimed to bridge the gap between the educational institutions and the job market by providing an opportunity for individuals to meet potential employers from various sectors. The primary objective of the Mini Job Fair was to connect students, fresh graduates, and professionals with employers who were actively looking to hire. The fair facilitated direct interaction between job seekers and industry representatives, offering a unique opportunity for individuals to network, gain insights into the current job market, and secure employment. The mini job fair hosted by BIDS at Don Bosco Technical Shillong proved to be a valuable event for both job seekers and employers. The program was summoned at 3:00 pm.
