DON BOSCO COLLEGE BYNDIHATI MARKS WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2025

Shillong/ Byndihati 4th June 2025: Don Bosco College, Byndihati, in a significant collaboration with the Integrated Care and Support Society, observed World Environment Day 2025 on 04th June 2025 with a series of impactful events centered around the theme “End Plastic Pollution”. The celebration, held at the college campus, aimed to enlighten and engage the community on the critical need for a clean, green, and sustainable environment.

    The day’s proceedings were graced by prominent dignitaries, including Rev. Fr. Daniel Cajee, Principal of Don Bosco College; Mr. Bachia R. Bhoi, Secretary of the Integrated Care and Support Society; and Shri Barrister Suchen, President of the Integrated Care and Support Society.

    The formal program commenced with inspiring addresses highlighting the day’s theme.              Fr. Daniel Cajee, in his address, emphasized the paramount importance of adopting the “Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse” principles to effectively combat plastic pollution. He underscored how collective action in minimizing plastic waste can lead to significant environmental improvements.

    Following the insightful discussions, the celebration culminated in a practical demonstration of environmental stewardship: a large-scale tree plantation drive within the college campus. Students, faculty, and members of both organizations actively participated, planting numerous saplings, symbolizing a commitment to fostering a greener future.
