The pilgrimage commenced in the morning, and at around 10:30 am, the group joyfully reached the Don Bosco Shrine, Sohra. The highlight of the day was the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 11:00 am, offered in honour of Don Bosco. The liturgy was marked with devotion and gratitude, as the faithful remembered the saint’s immense love for young people and his lifelong dedication to their spiritual and human formation.
Following the Mass, a special prayer was conducted near the relic of Saint John Bosco, invoking his intercession and blessing upon the boys, the Salesians, and the entire institution. This sacred moment created a deep spiritual atmosphere, helping the young participants to experience Don Bosco’s closeness and fatherly presence in their lives.
The pilgrimage also included a visit to the first church built by the Salvatorian Fathers in Sohra. The visit was both inspiring and educational, giving the young boys a glimpse into the rich history of the Catholic faith in the region and the pioneering efforts of the missionaries who first sowed the seeds of Christianity there.
The day concluded with a glimpse of the scenic beauty of Sohra, allowing the group to enjoy its cultural richness and natural wonders. This blend of spirituality and exploration made the pilgrimage not only a journey of faith but also a moment of cultural appreciation and joyful fraternity.
It was indeed a memorable and grace-filled day for the entire DBTS family, strengthening their bond with Don Bosco and with one another.
