NEW BEGINNINGS, NEW HORIZONS: DBTS OPENS SCHOLASTIC YEAR 2025
14th August 2025, Shullong: On 14th August 2025, Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, inaugurated the New Scholastic Year 2025 with a prayerful and inspiring programme graced by the Chief Guest, Shri. Shanborlang Warjri, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), East Khasi Hills District. The celebration began with a Bible Reading, prayer, and the lighting of the lamp, followed by uplifting songs and speeches. In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the values of discipline, hard work, and student placements, urging parents to support their children in exploring opportunities beyond the state and country. Speeches by the Rector, Fr. Saji Stephan, and the Principal, Fr. Shining Dkhar, further encouraged the students to excel in academics, discipline, and moral values.
The informal session that followed included an engaging talk and discussion by Miss Georgenia, the Placement Coordinator, who motivated the students to prepare themselves for wider career opportunities. The Principal also shared general instructions on rules and regulations with both parents and students, fostering clarity and cooperation for the new academic year.
The event concluded with a sincere Vote of Thanks delivered by Br. Sniawshngain Papang, Vice Principal, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Salesians, staff, and students for their active participation.
The inaugural programme was a perfect blend of prayer, inspiration, music, and motivation, setting a positive and enthusiastic beginning to the New Scholastic Year 2025 for the entire DBTS family.
