INTERACTION WITH A ZEALOUS MISSIONARY OF ARGENTINA: FR. PATRICK WARJRI AT DBTS

19th July 2025, Shillong: On the evening of 19th July 2025, the hostellers of Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, gathered for a meaningful and inspiring session titled "Interaction with a Zealous Missionary of Argentina: Fr. Patrick Warjri." The event was graced by the presence of Fr. Patrick Warjri, a proud past pupil of the institution and now a dedicated Salesian missionary in Argentina. The evening began with a warm welcome and introduction by Fr. Saji, the Rector of the Community, who set the tone for the session by acknowledging the humble beginnings of Fr. Patrick as a student of this very institution. In his introduction, Fr. Rector also shared a proud moment—that a street in Patagonia, Argentina, has been named after Fr. Patrick Warjri, a rare and honorable recognition of his dedicated service to the people of the region. This revelation was met with enthusiastic applause from the students and staff.

    Taking the stage, Fr. Patrick Warjri shared his journey of vocation, beginning from his student days at Don Bosco Technical School to his missionary life in Argentina. With sincerity and passion, he narrated the experiences that shaped his path—from moments of doubt and difficulty to stories of growth, success, and fulfillment.

    He also painted a vivid picture of his life and ministry in Argentina, describing the cultural richness of the region, the joys of pastoral work among the youth, and the unique challenges he faced in adapting to a new language, lifestyle, and community. His testimony reflected deep faith, unwavering commitment, and the true Salesian spirit of joyful service.

    The session was marked by lively interaction, with students actively participating and asking meaningful questions about missionary life, personal sacrifice, and discernment of one’s vocation. Fr. Patrick answered each question with warmth, wisdom, and honesty, leaving behind valuable lessons for all.

    The evening concluded with a note of gratitude and inspiration, reminding everyone of the powerful impact one can make when driven by love, faith, and dedication. The interaction not only highlighted the missionary zeal of Fr. Patrick but also served as a beacon of encouragement for the youth to dream big and serve selflessly.
