A Milestone of Faith and Growth: Foundation Stone Laid for New Block at St. Xavier’s Pathaliaghat

Shillong / Pathaliaghat, 23 May 2025 — St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, marked a significant milestone in its journey of growth and service with the solemn blessing and laying of the foundation stone for a new extension block. The ceremony, held at 9:00 AM, was graced by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Lumen Monteiro, CSC, Bishop of Agartala, who led the blessing in the presence of a large gathering of students, staff, parents, religious, and well-wishers.

    The day began with a warm welcome extended to Bishop Lumen upon his arrival. A special school assembly was held in his honour, during which he addressed the staff and students. In his message, the Bishop encouraged the school community to stay rooted in faith and remain committed to the holistic mission of education, emphasizing the value of character formation alongside academic excellence.

    Following the assembly, the community gathered at the construction site for the blessing ceremony. The event began with an introduction and a prayer led by Bishop Lumen. The atmosphere was one of reverence and unity, as the gathering sought God’s guidance for the new venture.

    The ceremony symbolized not just the physical expansion of the institution, but a continuation of its mission—to serve, to educate, and to uplift. It was a moment of grace, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing generations in faith and knowledge.

    The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Babu Stephen, who expressed deep gratitude to the Bishop and all present for their support and prayers on this memorable occasion.
