RECOLLECTION REPORT: BOSCO HOME HERMA PRE-NOVITIATE
9th December 2024, Herma: On the evening of 9th December 2024, the pre-novices at Bosco Home Herma participated in a spiritual recollection aimed at enhancing their spiritual lives. The recollection, scheduled at 5:30 PM, was attended not only by the pre-novices but also by three clerics: Br. Agustin Pariong SDB, Br. Bankitlang Lyngkhoi SDB, and Br. Leo Myrchiang SDB. This gathering provided an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and spiritual nourishment.
The preacher for the recollection was Fr. Pulinthanath Joseph SDB, whose talk focused on the theme of sacrifice. Fr. Joseph emphasized the importance of sacrifice in spiritual growth and its role in building a deeper relationship with God. Drawing inspiration from the Old Testament, he made a powerful connection to the figure of King David. Fr. Joseph highlighted that King David, when given the opportunity to receive a gift or favor, expressed his reluctance to accept anything without making a sacrifice in return. This attitude of David reflected the profound value he placed on sacrifice as a means of honouring God.
Fr. Joseph’s reflection resonated deeply with the pre-novices and clerics alike, reminding them that true spiritual growth requires personal sacrifice, whether it be in service, prayer, or dedication to the religious life. He encouraged them to embrace sacrifice as a path to holiness and a means of following Christ more closely.
The recollection concluded with a time for quiet prayer, giving each participant an opportunity to reflect on their own sacrifices and commitment to their vocation. It was a fruitful session that reinforced the importance of self-giving in the spiritual journey of every religious.
